HWCF Fosters Partnership and Innovation in the Fight against Obesity

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) began in 2009 as a nonprofit organization of food and beverage manufacturers and retailers working together to address the obesity problem in America. Under the leadership of Executive Director Lisa Guillerman Gable, former U.S. commissioner general to the 2005 World Exposition in Japan, HWCF has more than tripled its membership ranks to create a broad grassroots collation of more than 250 organizations. HWCF’s accomplishments include a 6.4 trillion reduction in annual calories delivered by 16 member companies; partnership with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Partnership for a Healthier America; a first-of-its-kind energy balance curriculum for elementary schools; and the development of extensive wellness resources in support of teachers, parents and children.

Signal’s support for HWCF’s wide range of activities has included design and ongoing management of the organization’s website and online community, production of a satellite media tour generating 2.6 million impressions, and creation of the organization’s annual report to stakeholders.
