TMA Rebrands Itself as Personify and Lands a Strategic Investor

There can be many reasons for changing a company name. These include changes in market needs, new competitors, or a misalignment between the company name and its vision for the future. The last three were on TMA Resources list when they engaged Signal in 2013 to help them rebrand the company. A longer-term objective was to better position the company for a strategic investment.

As a leading technology solutions provider to associations and non-profit organizations, TMA Resources was in the process of expanding its software platform and adding new services like data analytics to help clients deal with market challenges such as changing demographics and increased competition from commercial and free online resources.

Within the first month, Signal and the TMA Resources management team completed a strategic blueprint that included the company’s new positioning and differentiation strategy and a new promise of value that helped unify all technology and service offerings. In addition, Signal recommended that TMA Resources adopt the name of its software platform, Personify, as its new corporate identity.

Over the next 90 days, Signal and the Personify team completed a comprehensive rebranding exercise that included a new logo, tagline, website, exhibition booth, advertising, product/service rebranding, collateral suite and a wide variety of other materials. The new brand was launched with great success in August at ASAE 2013, the industry’s major conference. Four months later, Personify closed on a strategic investment from Rubicon Technology Partners, an equity firm investing in software and technology-enabled services companies.
